This book has lots of very specific details that are very convincing, but this strength is also it's slight weakness.the details go on, and on, and on. I actually took a break from reading it for a couple of weeks before picking it back up, and it was more of the same. I got lost in the details despite my overall interest in the subject matter and the book, and had to "plow" my way through the last half to the end. Overall a 4 star because it is well documented and the next big leap in explaining many previously non-sensical interpretations of archealogical discoveries.
So, this is always my litmus test to see if I am really someone who is seriously and honestly trying to give the public a legit time line on the origins of who and what we are or is the person sounding like any white philosophy professor, found in any community college, in any American City and expecting the students to really believe that Greece or Rome was some starting point of originality and it appears to be the later.I was say, like with most authors that are from the U.S. and basically we get the same b.s.
or Europe they spend all day long trying to make non-whites and non-Europeans into whites. This happens with American Christians and barely legit Jews, from the U.S.
While I have always known about the Sumerians and text, as is the case with Africa (including Egypt) whenever something is written from a white person, who happens to be of the U.S. Now, adding in Middle Eastern and African texts, like what we find in these stories that tell how civilization was created with a white guy from the U.S.
and Europe all the time. The Sumerian Texts are enough to fill a few chapters in a book, but this author has numerous books and sure enough he goes into Science Fiction. He mixed Greek and what is more "white friendly" mythology, with legit non-Euro texts, in an effort to somehow base civilization in Europe or started by whites or at least people who looked "white." The Study of anything Greek is simply the study of what the Greeks mostly took from Africa (Egypt and West/East Africa)-and the Romans lifted 100% of their literature from the Greeks, which was lifted from the Africans.
filtered through a racist mind set.Like on page 50 of this book, he gives a time line but this time line includes only historic civilization points which happened in Europe, America, Asia and even the Mayan Civilization but it magically fails to mention anything to do with Ethiopia or Timbuktu. or Europe, this man cannot let go of his racism to relay any historical and accurate facts about the Sumerians but spends all day trying to make it European or white, which is what they do with Egypt and even the Incans.
if this is your cup of tea you will enjoy this book.read them all though, that's my advice.
I haven't read this completely but consider it to be an Excellent source of Information as to the Likely hood of our past and origin.
By reading The 12th Planet, very early on one comes to realize that Mr. Thank You for writing this amazing book Mr. Sitchin knows his subject very well. The paralelles he draws are so incredibly detailed and meticulously documented that he leaves no doubt in one's mind that he is at the very least a master in the sciences, religions, history, and languages of the ancient past, as well as the present. Sitchin. You have gained a loyal pupil.
